“He doesn’t have much lived-in atmosphere, so we thought he didn’t have any emotions. But as we’ve been working together for long time, we find many different aspects of him that make us want to say, ‘Hey Nakata-san, you actually are…’. When we find it, it’s such fun! “Nakata-san’s characteristics are well expressed in the lyrics. He doesn’t writes lyrics like ‘brimming with hope’ or ‘heading in front’. What he writes is like ‘puzzled a bit’, ‘dream a bit’ and ‘bring us back to reality’ (laughs). He always brings us down to earth with the last phrase. He doesn’t conclude lyrics like, ‘We can do it!’ kind of tone. He rather tends to ask us by concluding it with a question such as ‘…or can we?’. And Nakata-san is now 33 years old (laughs).”

“We are very happy being with Nakata-san and look forward to the days of recording very much. I am usually at a loss as to what to wear for the recording because he suddenly starts taking pictures of us in his studio. I take care to not wear bad outfits just in case he points a camera at us.”
